As you may now I read a lot about the online bingo game from news stories to online bingo promotions but one article I read recently really made me question the online bingo morals of some of the people advertising the game. To my mind when writing about an online bingo promotion I want to make it sound interesting but I don't want to produce an article that to all intense and purposes screams "don't get a job, play online bingo!" This is exactly what a recent article said in essence despite being some 556 words long!

The piece, entitled "How free bingo websites have helped stay at home mums bring home the bacon" has to be the worst piece writing I have ever seen and demonstrates a complete lack of online bingo morals!

The piece starts off ok, well the first paragraph, before falling into the abyss that is how not to word an online bingo article! There is talk in the piece about the current economical climate but then it goes on to say, in no uncertain terms, that if you want children play online bingo because it will really help your finances. The author of this piece obviously has no online bingo morals, in fact it would be far to say, any morals at all.

We all know gambling can be addictive as this is why there are organisations like GambleAware available but on the whole, most people are sensible enough to realise that playing online bingo is just a bit of fun and not everyone will come out a winner. This piece then goes on to say that the money available at online bingo is even better than a job! How many ethical and moral faux pas can one piece of writing make?

I will say to the author of this piece that they need to get some online bingo morals and seriously take a look at what they hoped to achieve by the piece! That and they should be reported to one of the organisations that monitors the advertising of online bingo.

No cut in VAT for bingo halls

The Bingo Association along with some of the biggest names in the uk bingo industry have been campaigning to have the ‘Double Taxation’ levied against bingo halls be removed and the standard taxation be introduced as is the case with other gambling institutions. This campaign however has fallen on deaf ears and the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, Angela Eagle has ruled that any changes to the current VAT legislation would not be forthcoming. She believes that there is no case for the Bingo Industry to believe that they are being taxed unfairly, as there are various forms of taxation that affect other areas of the gambling industry.

In the Bingo corner was Liberal Democrat MP John Hemmings who argued that the Bingo industry was being targeted because of their customer demographic being mainly working class. Mr Hemmings believes that there will be continued job losses due to bingo hall closures in the industry because of the unfair taxation levels, as well as a serious affect on the community when they lose the social aspect of the bingo hall. The Scottish National Party has been officially against the taxation since November 2008, and have called for the bingo revenues to be exempt from incurring VAT.

It has been reported that at least 100 clubs have closed in the last six years with resultant job losses in the region of 3,500. The smoking ban and the recession are likely to cause further damage the bingo industry, John Hemmings believes without doubt that this decision will cause many more bingo clubs to close and thousands of jobs to be lost. It was hoped that in the face of such a tough economic climate that the Government would relent to assist an industry struggling in the face of adversity. This hope has now been dashed by the decision of the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, Angela Eagle. The internet bingo becomes more popular among the peoples. People are more interested in playing online bingo.
